Promotional Products Work! Week


Did you know that February 25 through March 1st has been designated Promotional Products Work! Week. It’s a campaign sponsored by the Promotional Products Association International (PPAI). They have released a new study this week called The Influence of Promotional Product on Consumer Behavior.

Highlights from the study show:

  • 88% of promotional product recipients recall the advertiser featured on the promotional products they are gifted with. (fyi only 71% of a newspaper reader recalled the advertiser a week later)
  • 85% have done business with the advertiser after receiving a promotional item.
  • 83% like to receive promotional products.
  • 81% keep the products because they are useful.
  • 59% had a more favorable impression of the advertiser after receiving a promotional item.
  • 58% received promo products at business establishments or events.
  • 53% use promotional products they have received at least once a week.
  • 47% keep the promotional product they receive for more than a year.

With almost three decades of comprehensive research published, The Influence of Promotional Products on Consumer Behavior study further substantiates promotional products are a worthwhile and highly effective medium for advertisers and marketers as they consider their advertising investment options.”

DBG Promotions 2012 Top Ten

DBG Promotions has released their top 10 best selling promotional products of 2012. Our customers from coast to coast are using these creative ideas to build their brand and increase awareness.  ”It was a banner year for DBG and there were 10 very popular items that our customers bought time and time again” said President David Goggin.

Here is the list of the hottest selling items in 2012:

#1 The Rally Towel - The best selling product by far was the Stadium Rally Towel. These towels were fun give a-ways used to cheer a team on a football games, basketball games and soccer games. Others were used as a give a-way for triathlons and 5K races. The large imprint area is a terrific way to get your message seen, share your vision or thank your sponsors.

 

#2 The Business Card Magnet – One of the best priced promotional products, the business card magnet is a wonderful addition to any branding or marketing campaign. Full color digital imprint allows for your message to pop. Magnets stick on fridges or filing cabinets for instant and constant reference.

 

#3 Non Woven polypropylene reusable bags – Strong, light weight and affordable, the non woven polypropylene bag is a bag not to be missed. Convenient to carry and inexpensive to ship, these “green” reusable bags are the hit for 2012 promotional purchases. These machine washable bags come in a large amount of colors and large imprint areas. Blanket  the next trade show you exhibit at with a non woven bag!

#4 The Imprinted tshirts – Always a favorite, the heavyweight cotton t-shirt was again one of our top ten products in 2012. Thank your employees, brand your running event, reward a returning customer, commemorate a school event – t-shirts are kept, enjoyed and reused making it an excellent return on your promotional investment.

 

# 5  Drawstring Backpack – Another big seller in 2012 was the draw string backpack. This item popular with schools, universities, camps, travel companies and corporate events comes in a large number of colors. Light weight, packable and fun, these inexpensive backpacks will again be popular in 2013.

 

#6 Acrylic Tumbler – Double Walled acrylic tumbler was made popular a few years back by coffee shops – in 2012 these travel tumblers flew off the shelves. One of our most re-ordered item – it seems the customers who purchased these promotional gems found they worked! This was another product that came in attractive translucent colors and was found to have a very high perceived value. A good return on your investment, these tumblers stick around!

#7 The Javalina Pen – An all time most popular item has got to be the promotional pen. Used by all companies, pens travel long distances, communicate a branding message and are referenced quickly for telephone numbers, web address and company names. The Javalina pen was our #1 selling pen in 2012!  Another item with lots of colors, we predict the Javalina pen will again be a popular item in 2013.

 

#8 Flash Drives – 2012 marked the year of our largest flash drive purchase. These handy drives come in multiple shaped and memory sizes. They can include links to your website or a catalog of products. An ever increasing popular item, these digital promotional products should be included in every high end promotional marketing campaign. This is another item that will remain popular in 2013.

#9 Hand Sanitizers – With the increased awareness of the need for clean hands has brought on the practical hand sanitizer promotional product. This thoughtful promotion is available in all shapes and sizes – many factories offer full color imprint. It’s a terrific promotion that will be used and appreciated. Keep germs and sickness away with this favorite health themed promotion!

 

#10 Journal Books – There’s so much flexibility in using a journal book for your promotional product campaign. 2012 saw a large selection of stock journal books where a logo could be imprinted or debossed. Another bonus for the journal book is the ability to fully customize the item – from the cover, to the tip in pages, the spine, the paper type – you can produce a one of a kind promotion using a journal book.
